Steam Distillation

Steam distillation is one of the most accepted extraction methods to extract natural oil.  In this process, the raw material is collected into the steel tank where heat is supplied. Now vaporize volatile compounds pass through the condensation & it’s collected in the receiver. During this process, dry heat is used. Mainly essential oils are extracted from this process.

Solvent Extraction 

In this process, the role of heat is restricted; therefore, the natural oils formed from this process do not alter the essence of the plant. It’s considered one of the most effective ways for Jasmine, and Linden Blossom. Hexane and ethanol are taken as the solvent for extracting the natural essential oils. The final mixture is sometimes used in the perfumery.

Co2 Extraction

Co2 extraction process is another popular way of getting the Co2 extracts. The operating temperature of this process is 95F to 100F. In this process, Co2 passes through different stages of physical changes such as gaseous to liquid and further liquid to gaseous.  Bergamot Co2 extracts, Cinnamon Co2 extracts oils, Lavender Co2 extracts, Nutmeg Co2 Extracts are its examples. As co2 is a colourless and odourless gas, therefore it can be handled easily.

Maceration 

In this process, the dry material of the plant is used for the extraction process.  A gentle heat is supplied that plays a significant role where the plant’s internal material comes out. After obtaining the mixture solvent & plant’s internal essence leave it for 1 week. Further, it strained & expressed liquid obtained which is filtered. In the Maceration process, the final product is left for around 12 months in an airtight container. The oil obtained from this process is mainly used in making beauty and cosmetic products.

Cold-Pressed Technique

It’s a wonderful technique that is mainly used for the extraction of carrier oils. In this process -  hydraulic pressure is applied to get the extract of vegetables and fruit.
